Historic Fort • Maharashtra

Raigad Fort

Raigad Fort, located in the Sahyadri mountain range near Mahad, stands as one of India's greatest symbols of courage and leadership. It was renovated by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and declared the capital of the Maratha Empire in 1674.

Today visitors can reach the fort through a modern ropeway while experiencing the same majestic landscape that once witnessed the rise of one of India's greatest kingdoms.

Mahatma Phule Wada

Mahatma Phule Wada, situated in Ganj Peth (now Mahatma Phule Peth), Pune, is one of India's most important landmarks in the history of social reform. This historic residence belonged to Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, pioneers who dedicated their lives to education, women's empowerment and equality.

The wada witnessed the beginning of revolutionary movements that challenged discrimination and opened the doors of education for girls and marginalized communities. Today it stands as a protected heritage monument preserving the legacy of courage, education and social justice.

The Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Museum, located on Bhausingji Road, Kolhapur, is a magnificent nineteenth-century palace that once served as the royal residence of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj.

Today it preserves priceless royal collections, historical weapons, paintings, sculptures, furniture and artifacts that reflect the rich heritage of the Maratha Kingdom.

The palace is renowned for its majestic Darbar Hall, beautiful European architecture and priceless historical collections.

Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur is one of the most sacred Buddhist monuments in the world. It is the place where Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar embraced Buddhism along with nearly 600,000 followers on 14 October 1956, creating one of the largest peaceful religious movements in modern history.

Today Deekshabhoomi symbolizes equality, humanity, knowledge and social justice. Every year lakhs of visitors arrive here to pay tribute to the ideals of liberty, fraternity and compassion.
